Short in length but long in history, the Bamboo Conb Lane is well-known far and near. It has attracted a great number of tourists who came out of admiration for its charm. And the local people very much like to have a stroll here. You would ask what’s special about this small lane. The answer lies in the rich history this lane embodies. Being an important historic site, the lane is associated with a wealth of folklore and legend. This scenic spot is like a shining pearl on the thread of the ancient canal.
The Bamboo Comb Lane is situated in the western part of Changzhou City. It is also the site of an ancient post---the Piling Post. The Lane was formally called the Flower Market Street. The change of the name is related to an interesting story of Emperor Qianling’s inspection tour in the south of the country.
