When Gingghis Khan died in 1227,he wasd secretly buried. In order to offer sacrifices to him, Mongolian people built up"Eight white mamorial Yurts ",which represented the Mausoleum of Gingghis khan .As the chanes took place in the political centre of the Mongolian people. the memorial yurts moved from one place to another. In the Ming Dynasty they settled down on the Ordos plateau and have been enshrined and worshipped by people except when they were moved to Gansu and Qinghai by way of Yan-an in 1939(during the war)for the sake of safety. The eight white memorial yurts were brought back and laid in the halls of the newly-built Mausoleum of Gingghis Khan for worship and exhibition in 1954.
